Our Core Privacy Promise: LupoTrail was built for athletes who care about their data sovereignty. We do not sell your data, we do not track you across other applications or websites, and we do not incorporate third-party advertising networks. Your workout coordinates and sensor telemetry remain under your exclusive control on your device.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how LupoTrail ("we", "us", or "our") handles your data when you use our mobile application across iOS and Android. LupoTrail is designed as an offline-first, high-precision multisport GPS computer for outdoor activities including cycling, mountain biking, trail running, and alpine hiking.

2. Location Data & Background GPS Tracking

LupoTrail requires access to your device's satellite positioning systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) to perform its core functions as an outdoor sports computer:

Foreground Location: Utilized while the application is active on your screen to calculate real-time speed, rolling pace, distance traveled, climb gradients, and to display your live position on topographic maps.
Background Location (Locked Screen & Pocket Tracking): LupoTrail requests background location permission (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION on Android and UIBackgroundModes: location on iOS). This allows you to lock your phone and carry it securely in your cycling jersey pocket or backpack while the app accurately logs your GPS path, total elevation gain, and distance without interruptions.

Your location coordinates are stored locally on your device. We never transmit your real-time or historical coordinates to remote advertising servers or commercial data brokers.

3. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Wireless Sensor Telemetry

LupoTrail requests Bluetooth permissions (BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT) to interface directly with peripheral sports sensors via standard Bluetooth Low Energy profiles:

Heart Rate Monitors: Standard Bluetooth GATT service 0x180D (e.g., chest straps, optical armbands).
Speed & Cadence Sensors: Standard wheel and pedal crank sensors (GATT 0x1816).
Cycling Power Meters: Strain-gauge power telemetry and pedal efficiency (GATT 0x1818).
Vehicle Proximity Radar: BLE proximity alerts for approaching rearward vehicles.

Sensor data is processed in real-time in device memory and saved directly into your local workout session. Bluetooth permissions are never used for indoor beacon tracking or advertising identification.

4. Camera & Photo Library Access (Optional)

If you choose to attach photos of scenic trail views to your saved activity summaries, LupoTrail will request photo library or camera permissions. Photos are stored locally in the app's sandboxed storage directory on your device.

5. Open GPX Route Interoperability

LupoTrail provides standard .gpx file export and import capabilities. Any file export action is entirely user-initiated, allowing you to transfer your activity data to your personal computer or cloud storage of your choice.

6. Diagnostics & Local Logs

To assist in troubleshooting and debugging hardware connection issues, LupoTrail includes an on-device diagnostic logger. Diagnostic logs do not contain your personal identifying information and are kept strictly on your phone unless you choose to export them when contacting customer support.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

You have complete authority over your stored workout history:

Delete Activities: You can delete any individual workout or wipe your entire activity history anytime via the app's History settings.
Account & Data Deletion: You can delete your account profile at any time within the app or by visiting our Account Deletion Page.

8. Children's Privacy

LupoTrail is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
