LupoTrail Support Center

User guides, Bluetooth sensor pairing procedures, and optimization for outdoor tracking.

Need Fast Assistance? LupoTrail is built to be resilient, offline-ready, and private. If you have questions about device permissions or wireless sensor setup, check the step-by-step guides below.

1. Bluetooth Wireless Sensor Setup

LupoTrail connects directly to peripheral sports sensors using standard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) profiles:

Connecting Heart Rate Monitors (Chest Straps & Armbands)

  1. Moisten the sensor electrodes (for chest straps) or position your optical sensor securely against your skin.
  2. Open LupoTrail and tap the Heart Rate card on your dashboard (or open Settings → Sensors).
  3. Tap Scan for Sensors.
  4. Select your sensor from the detected list and tap Connect. LupoTrail will automatically remember and reconnect to this sensor on your next workout.

Connecting Speed & Cadence Sensors

  1. Spin the wheel or rotate the pedal crank 2–3 times to wake the sensor from sleep mode.
  2. In LupoTrail, navigate to Settings → Speed & Cadence.
  3. Tap Scan, select your sensor, and configure your tire circumference if prompted.

Connecting Cycling Power Meters

  1. Perform a few pedal strokes to activate the power meter's Bluetooth transmitter.
  2. Open Settings → Power Meter and select Scan for Power Meters.
  3. Once paired, live wattage and 3-second smoothed power output will appear in your cockpit display.

Connecting Vehicle Proximity Radar Sensors

  1. Power on your compatible Bluetooth radar light.
  2. In LupoTrail, open Settings → Vehicle Radar and initiate a scan.
  3. Select your unit to pair. Once active, a top-mounted visual threat bar and optional acoustic chimes will warn of rearward approaching vehicles.

2. Background GPS Recording & Battery Optimization

LupoTrail is engineered to record your outdoor tracks with high precision while your phone is locked inside your jersey pocket or backpack. To ensure uninterrupted satellite tracking without operating system interference:

  • On Android: Open your phone's Android Settings → Apps → LupoTrail → Battery → Select "Unrestricted" (this prevents Android's aggressive background killer from suspending GPS). Under Permissions → Location, ensure "Allow all the time" is selected.
  • On iOS: Open iPhone Settings → LupoTrail → Location → Select "Always" and ensure the "Precise Location" toggle is switched ON.

3. GPX Routes & Course Navigation

LupoTrail uses standard, open-format GPX files for trail interchange:

  • Importing a Route: Transfer or save any standard .gpx track file to your phone's storage. In LupoTrail, tap Routes → Import GPX. The route line, waypoints, and elevation profile will load onto your map.
  • Exporting Sessions: In your Activity History, select any completed workout and tap Export GPX to save or share your complete GPS trajectory, speed, and sensor stream.

4. Frequently Asked Questions

Does LupoTrail require an active cellular data connection?

No. GPS satellite positioning, sensor telemetry, and offline trail maps function entirely without internet access. You can record workouts deep in backcountry trails with zero cellular service.

Is LupoTrail only for biking?

LupoTrail is a comprehensive multisport GPS platform! It provides specialized tracking modes for trail running, mountain trekking, hiking, fast walking, and outdoor fitness. It also includes an advanced, deep-dive suite of specialized features for road, gravel, and downhill mountain biking.
